Guardino connection check.

Find out in seconds whether this device's DNS is resolving through Guardino — the definitive "did my setup work?" answer.

Is this device protected?

One click. We check whether this device's DNS queries are resolving through Guardino — nothing to install, no account needed, no test session stored.

Under the hood

One hostname only we can answer.

Your browser requests a hostname that doesn't exist in public DNS — only Guardino's resolver knows the answer. If the request succeeds, your DNS demonstrably flows through Guardino on this connection. If it fails, whatever resolver this device actually uses couldn't find it — which is the point: a "protected" result can't be faked, because only Guardino can answer.

Common questions

About the connection check.

How does the connection check work?+

Your browser asks for a hostname that only Guardino's resolver knows how to answer. If the request succeeds, this device's DNS is resolving through Guardino. If it fails, another resolver — usually your ISP's — is answering your DNS, so the check reports you're not connected. (If you're fully offline, the check tells you that instead.)

It says I'm not protected, but I set Guardino up. Why?+

The check tests this device on this network. Common causes: the DNS profile is installed on a different device, your VPN or browser's secure-DNS setting is overriding the system resolver, or you're on a network (like office Wi-Fi) that forces its own DNS. Re-run the setup on this device, or temporarily disable conflicting DNS settings and check again.

Does the check send or store anything about me?+

The check is a quick request from your browser to a Guardino-controlled hostname (plus a connectivity check against our site if it fails, so being offline isn't mistaken for being unprotected). There's no test session to store and the result isn't tied to any account — it simply succeeds or fails in your browser.

Do I need an account to use this?+

No. The check is free and anonymous. You only need an account if you want to set up Guardino's filtering on your devices afterwards — the free plan covers 1 profile and 3 devices.

What's the difference between this and a DNS leak test?+

This check answers one question: is this device using Guardino? A full DNS leak test goes further and lists every resolver that handles your lookups, with their networks. We're building that tool on dedicated test infrastructure — this check is the fastest way to verify your setup today.
